Minimalist Bible: Creation Day 5

I've been a big fan of the minimalist poster designs. Taking something as complex as a person or a movie and stripping it down to one powerful graphical element that is instantly recognizable. I wanted to do something unique; something that had never been done before. So God hit me alongside the head with an idea: Bible stories. If you wish to see the previous posters, check out Creation Day 1Creation Day 2Creation Day 3, and Creation Day 4 now.

Each Wednesday over the last few weeks, I have been unveiling my original minimalist poster series focused on the Creation story. Today I'm excited to release the fifth and sixth posters of the series, Creation Day 5 – Part 1 and Creation Day 5 – Part 2.

Creation Day 5 – Part 1 and Creation Day 5 – Part 2 come from Genesis 1:20-23 (NLT) which says, "Then God said, 'Let the waters swarm with fish and other life. Let the skies be filled with birds of every kind.' So God created great sea creatures and every living thing that scurries and swarms in the water, and every sort of bird—each producing offspring of the same kind. And God saw that it was good. Then God blessed them, saying 'Be fruitful and multiply. Let the fish fill the seas, and let the birds multiply on the earth.' And evening passed and morning came, marking the fifth day."

Day 5 was such a cool day that I needed to split it up into two parts. On Day 5, God started creating complex organisms. Don't get me wrong, plants back on Day 3 were highly complex and needed a lot of God's love to make them work. BUT on Day 5, God went to another level. The complex organisms that God created can move, communicate, think, problem solve and show emotion. Plus, this is the first time that we see God blessing something He created.

I'm starting to believe that God began to show off His creative abilities on Day 5. We, as humans, haven't even touched the depths of the deepest parts of the ocean, and there are species that we haven't even discovered yet. Plus, how cool is it that animals can fly. FLY!! If I had the ability to pick a superhero power, flight would be at the top of the list.
