The pouring rain tried to prevent their intimate, outdoor wedding from happening, but these two have weathered far more than that over the course of their cross-country relationship. This wedding was particularly meaningful to Chad and I since we are such close, personal friends to the Bride and Groom and Chad's role was a little different than normal. These images will speak for themselves—simple elegance, infectious laughter and genuine love.
Read MoreRight now, this newlywed couple is traipsing around Nicaragua together on their honeymoon. This is what Aaron & Elizabeth looked like on Sunday soon after they officially tied the knot in a beautiful St. Louis park. Hand in hand, all smiles—we’re pretty sure this is how they’ll look for most of their future together. This little sneak peek comes with a tad bit of backstory...
Read MoreKatie is from Wisconsin and we actually have mutual friends there, but the first time we met her and Bryan, we ran into them in a random North Carolina parking lot. Chad and I were visiting Raleigh and told them we’d be moving there soon. We quickly discovered that we’d be attending the same church and that their wedding date was literally the first Saturday we’d be living in NC. It was clear that our meeting was “meant to be” and they practically booked us on the spot! We look back only to laugh now, as we’ve already become great friends.
Last night, they got to see their images for the first time at a Photo Reveal Party at their home. Today, we're so excited to share the story & image highlights from their beautiful, Raleigh wedding at the Babylon Restuarant!
Read MoreI just love how the perfect light can make for the most romantic of settings. This bright, sun-soaked wedding at The Club at Strawberry Creek (Kenosha, WI) was a perfect example. Bryan and Maddy's outdoor wedding ceremony and portraits on the golf course were as dreamy as they come. Their colors of yellow and celadon blue added to the sunny disposition of their celebration, too.
This wedding included lots of unique, fun ideas I'm excited to share about. Read on and see their beautiful highlights...
Read MoreElegant simplicity. That's how I would describe Zac and Rachel's intimate, backyard wedding in August. They decided together what they valued in the celebration of their marriage and followed through on those things thoughtfully and intentionally. Their ceremony and dinner celebration took place at the beautiful home of Rachel's parents in Hubertus, WI with 20 members of their immediate family, the Pastor and his wife, and Chad and myself. What a true honor to be included to capture this special occasion!
I am SO excited to share these highlights from their wedding day...
Read MoreChad and Kelly were happily married on June 16th. We were absolutely honored to shoot their wedding in Kenosha and hang out with them all day in celebration with their fantastic family and friends. Initially, the rain gave everyone a bit of a scare, but it turned out to be a bright, beautiful afternoon next to Lake Michigan. Boy, was it HOT! The occasion was filled with laughter, custom Converse kicks, and plenty of love. I hope you enjoy the highlights!
Megan Smith made a beautiful bride on July 2, 2011, when she married the charming Scott Palasik at Raven's Glenn Winery in West Lafayette, Ohio. Like I mentioned in their sneak peek post a while back, this was one of the most sentimental weddings I have ever witnessed. It was truly a marriage of two families, with touching words shared by all, various tears shed by most, and hugs passed out generously. Even putting this post together brought back sweet memories of their beautiful love story that will definitely outlast the single day of celebration.
Megan & Scott crafted all the details together perfectly, entwining bits of their personalities and their families. We enjoyed the casual, genuine quality of the ceremony and reception. Their excitement and love were SO obvious. Even the weather was perfect—a beautiful, soft cloudcover with the thundering of storms in the distance (never affected us!).
On June 16, 2011, Sara Furnival and Ray Bennett officially tied the knot. As I mentioned in their sneak peek post a while back, Sara is one of my best friends from high school. I was so honored to be a part of their Tennessee wedding—especially since it was my very first wedding shoot. I had an absolute blast and loved every bit of it (except maybe the crazy heat/humidity).
The last month has been a bit hairy for me with traveling & such... Thank you all for being so patient with me. Hopefully the highlights were worth the wait:
