Valentine's Day Dinner Date

It seems the bar is now set for our brand new "Real Life Sessions" with a romantic date night last night. The documentary Session captured the true season of life for these two love birds and I can hardly wait to share the images.

"I wouldn't leave you in times of trouble, We never could have come this far," the Billy Joel lyrics serenaded from the vinyl turntable in the living room. "I took the good times; I'll take the bad times, I'll take you just the way you are." It was the perfect selection to set a romantic mood for Janette and John David who were preparing a delicious pasta dinner together for a Valentine's Day date at home.

The way they worked together in the kitchen so seamlessly and moved around each other so lovingly was sweet. They are clearly still head-over-heels for each other and it was inspiring. Even the dinner table was adorned with Baby's Breath flowers—their wedding flower! They were married February 26, 2011, so are coming up on their fourth wedding anniversary. They laughed together, exchanged some grins and gazes, pulled out their wedding album to reminisce, and even enjoyed tasty chocolate-drizzled brioche after dinner.

Little Mika and Ruby, their personality-filled dogs, are very important members of this family, too. They joined Janette and JD in their own special way for all activities of this date night. Ruby sang a little rendition of what was surely a love song, Mika showed off her ballet moves, they both taste-tested carrots for the meal, and Ruby even made an appearance at the table for some fun after dinner.

With a quick reset of the needle on the record player, they all continued into the living room for a spontaneous, fun and romantic dance. "I said I love you and that's forever, And this I promise from the heart, I could not love you any better, I love you just the way you are."
